Kiosk is an artists' collaborative formed (in 2002) by DC artists Karen Joan Topping, Ian Jehle and Alan Callander. The artists of Kiosk share a common focus on content, meaning and interpretation, as well as an interest in examining content from various points of view across various media. The artists of Kiosk view the exhibition space as a collaborative multimedia environment organized around a common theme to foster a dialogue between artists, media and audience, raising questions, while rarely answering them. The artists' process begins with a dialogue with each other, eventually resulting in the exhibition which includes the viewer in the conversation. Toward the objective of inclusiveness and the widest possible collaboration, the members of Kiosk regularly collaborate with other artists in different media, including cartoonists, theater directors, art historians, curators and writers.
